Witch Balls

Historically Witch Balls were used in the 18th Century Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England and were used to ward off evil spirits. Superstition has it that if a witch passed by he/she would be mesmerized by their reflection in the ball and they would be trapped inside the web of glass. It was generally hung by an eastern window, suspended by a cord attached to rafters or placed on top of a vase. At times these balls have been confused with Watch Balls which provided similar protection, but specifically against witches. They are now used by witches all over the world not intended to protect from other witches, but to protect from malevolent forces that are all around us. Placing one in a home is said to protect from all negative spirits clearing the way for absorbing any negative energy that may threaten your homes tranquility.
